EMERYVILLE, Calif. — Households considering a heat pump, electric vehicle or another energy-saving upgrade can use a free online incentive finder promoted by the city to check which rebates or discounts may apply.

How the incentive finder works

In an October 29, 2026 announcement, the City of Emeryville highlighted a tool from Ava Community Energy, the area’s community electricity provider. The tool asks for a ZIP code and basic details about the household’s living situation, then displays potential home-electrification and energy-efficiency programs.

Depending on the applicant and program, options may cover changes to heating and cooling, electric transportation or other equipment. An incentive shown in a search result is not automatically an approved payment, and actual awards depend on program rules, income, equipment eligibility and funding availability.

Before you buy equipment

Residents should review whether a program requires preapproval, installation by a participating contractor, proof of residency or a specific purchase date. Renters may also need property-owner permission for permanent modifications. Buying equipment first can jeopardize eligibility for some programs.

The city’s notice does not promise that every Emeryville household qualifies or that every rebate remains funded indefinitely. The prudent first step is to verify current terms with the program administrator.

Where to start

Visit Ava Community Energy’s savings and incentives page, linked from the official Emeryville announcement. Enter your actual ZIP code and housing information to view relevant opportunities.
